Seated Chair Massage

Outcall Chair Massage

Birmingham, Alabama

Birmingham massage therapist performing seated chair massage

A seated chair massage is administered with the client fully clothed, sitting in a professional massage chair designed specifically for massage therapists.

Sessions typically last between 10 and 15 minutes per person. That might not sound like enough time, but at APM we focus on providing high quality therapeutic sessions to achieve desired results, even during our seated chair massage.

All massage therapists at Alternative Pain Management are certified in Neuromuscular Therapy, an effective method for relieving pain and discomfort associated with trigger points.

When necessary, we incorporate neuromuscular therapy into our seated chair massages to add to the effectiveness of each individual session.

Areas that can be addressed during a seated chair massage.

  • Neck
  • Shoulders
  • Upper back
  • Mid to lower back
  • Arms & hands
  • Scalp

What are some common issues that can be addressed during a seated chair massage?

  • Neck Pain
  • Headaches
  • Shoulder pain
  • Upper back pain
  • Limited range of motion in the shoulder
  • Arm and wrist pain

Areas that are difficult to addressed during a chair massage.

  • Legs
  • Feet
  • Hips
  • Low back

Some areas are a bit more difficult for the massage therapist to address during a seated chair massage. Even though your therapist may be able to massage these areas of the body while you are sitting in the massage chair, the position that the massage chair places you in prevents the therapist from performing certain techniques that have been shown to be effective in relieving tension and discomfort in these areas.

If you wish to have a more detailed massage on these areas, we suggest a session performed on a massage table instead of the massage chair.
